The Learning Center at St. Bridget School provides a variety of special educational services for our students.
The mission of The Learning Center is to have all children engage and learn in school by connecting each student with a tailored set of preventive and intervention services needed to thrive.
Students are referred to the Learning Center through teacher/parent referrals or through existing Individual Education Plans (IEP). The Learning Center Director coordinates a variety of services for students including Speech and Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, and Wilson Reading Program. These services are generally received in the public schools.
The Learning Center performs preliminary academic observations and facilitates referrals to the public schools. When students qualify for IEP services, the Learning Center Director coordinates their accommodations with all service providers. The Learning Center Director also works with the classroom teachers on how to implement the classroom accommodations for these students. The setting may include small groups, one-to-one, or inclusion.
Today, it is more important than ever to teach our students how to navigate academic, social, and emotional challenges of school and life. These efforts will lay the foundation for students to reach their full potential.
