Girls and boys, 5th grade and over, are invited to participate in the liturgical services as Altar Servers. A training program must be attended prior to exercising this important ministry. Saint. Bridget School students serve at all school liturgies, as well as funerals that are held during a school day.
Saint Bridget Middle School students perform a full-length play each year in the spring. This is a wonderful experience for all involved. Being part of a drama production enhances public speaking skills and improves self-esteem.
The Middle School Play includes on and off-stage assistance, scenery, costumes, and music.
Nature’s Classroom is a five-day residential environmental education program in Maine. Saint Bridget School 4th and 5th graders spend this week at Nature’s Classroom living and learning together, developing a sense of community and confidence in themselves and an appreciation for others and the environment around them.
At Nature’s Classroom students take an active role in their education by participating in exciting hands-on motivational activities which are both academic and enjoyable. Our project-oriented classes help students realize the importance of their classroom subjects.
The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation’s largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
In Girl Scouts, girls discover the fun, friendship, and power of girls together. Through a myriad of enriching experiences, such as extraordinary field trips, sports skill-building clinics, community service projects, cultural exchanges, and environmental stewardships, girls grow courageous and strong. Girl Scouting helps girls develop their full individual potential; relate to others with increasing understanding, skill, and respect; develop values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision-making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership skills, and cooperation with others.
At Saint Bridget School we offer both scouting programs. The boy scouting program at Saint Bridget School begins with cub scouts in 1st grade and the Girl Scouting program begins in Kindergarten. We have our own troops that meet after school once a month and participate in a variety of both in-school and out-of-school activities.
